4mm scale - OO gauge layout

New Barton is one of the club's 00 gauge layouts and is based loosely somewhere west of Salisbury but is a fictional country town main line station and in no particular time era. This enables a variety of steam locomotion and modern image trains to operate as it is used mainly for club evening running and occasionally for exhibition.

There is a branch line and goods yard; main line trains connect with branch line trains and the goods yard will be busy with wagon shunting. The small goods yard, warehouse complex and a branch line allow for a wide cross section of operation.

The track work is Peco Code 100 Streamline to allow operation of club members varied stock.

The layout has a multi-track fiddle yard using a diode matrix control for the points and automatic stop on the branch line and warehouse sidings allowing trains to be stopped, out of sight, irrespective of which end the loco is fitted.

The majority of buildings are scratch built with some modified kits.
